The Sysmex CS-5100 system is a high throughput, best in class coagulation analyser with the added advantage of automated pre-analytical sample quality check to maximize the benefit of integrating coagulation testing into the LAS (laboratory automated transport system). This fulfils customers’ needs for both speed and quality.

High volume, fully automated, wagon-mounted haemostasis that is compatible with laboratory automated transport systems.

The CS-5100 system addresses the need of high-volume laboratories with its optimised throughput including full random access loading. It utilises Sysmex proprietary multi-wavelength analysis technology to deliver the high-quality results and provide extra safety to patient results via pre-analytical sample check. The advanced technology consolidates both routine and speciality haemostasis testing in a single analyser.

Exceptional productivity and efficiency

  • Using a multi-wavelength detection system, the CS-5100 system simultaneously measures multiple parameters using four different measurement methods: clotting, chromogenic, immunoassay and aggregation, all on a single platform, with a maximum throughput of 400 tests per hour.
  • With the option to connect CS-5100 system to a LAS, laboratories can achieve greater efficiency. LAS connectivity permits direct sampling, without the need for robotic arms, yielding greater reliability. Sampling can be interrupted through the STAT/Sampler unit for urgent sampling for greater efficiency.

High quality results and extra safety

  • Optimal wavelength is used for each measurement parameter to reduce effects of interfering substances on the absorbance spectra or in specific sample conditions such as low fibrinogen level or severe lipaemia.
  • Sample integrity such as the presence of interfering substances in the sample – haemolysis, icterus, lipaemia (HIL) and primary tube sample volume is checked before analysis. Results are flagged if the sample is of questionable quality for extra safety.

This onboard pre-analytical check further streamlines the sample handling process on LAS.

New standard in haemostasis testing

  • The CS-5100 system set a new standard in haemostasis testing, focusing strongly on clinical value and diagnostic benefits for both laboratories and clinicians. It automates speciality testing such as FXIII activity, platelet-based von Willebrand cofactor activity, platelet aggregation to ADP, epinephrine, collagen, arachidonic acid and ristocetin in a single analyser.
  • The 1st and 2nd derivatives are available from the clot waveform analysis for research in potential clinical utility of evaluating coagulation function in various bleeding disorders, especially Haemophilia A, B, and monitoring bypass therapy1.
